Are Schools taking Children in too young?

I was talking recently to Early Years and they told me something which I think might be of interest to You
the Parent.

Schools are only supposed to intake Children from Nurseries such as Happidayz ONCE a year…that being the
start of a new term year in September. However I spoke with our Manager Michelle who has provided proof
that Schools are actually taking Children from Nurseries as and when they like.

We have had Children leave us, unprepared for School…and I’ll explain that later…
in February, April, June, July, October and November.

The reason the Schools are giving Parents is that they will “loose their place” if they do not
take their Child to School…when the School asks for them.

PARENTS you have been MISLED!!!

Schools are taking your Children because they are being compensated that’s all.

IF it was in the SOLE interest of the Child I would be happy with the situation…BUT IT’S NOT!!!

Children Are Unprepared For School

Children leave Nurseries Like ours with “Caring Loving Staff” up and down the Country and are going to School…
Unprepared.

Why…because…

They leave Nurseries with Staffing Ratios of 1:8 going to Schools with Ratios of 1:20, 1:25, 1:30

Bullying at 3 and 4 years cannot be easily controlled with high ratios in a class

Some Children are leaving nursery before being fully Toilet trained…this can be embarassing for the Child

At 3 and 4 years some Children struggle to feed themselves…do Schools allow for this?

Here at Happidayz we try to cover all the above plus a lot more to ensure your Child is getting a full and
enjoyable day each and every day. Children learn best through play and by being creative…working closely
with no more than 8 children at a time ensures they all have their say and are allowed to grow and gain
confidence quickly.

Children who leave us at 4+ are confident and competent. They are happy and have grown to such a stage,
that things they were timid about when they were 2, are no longer barriers to them as they are fully prepared for
School.

One Child who came to us when he was under 1 year old was very quite and timid…he was a very nervous little boy
who did not want to do anything or try anything.

He is now able to converse with anyone…Child or Adult with ease, he is creative, expressive and intelligent. He has plenty of friends and enjoys every day with a radiant smile that tells you he’s happy. His Parents are happy too.

There is talk of Schools giving 4 year olds exams…I hope this one doesn’t get through…as it is totally…ridiculous!

IF you really want to help your Child…allow them to have a “Childhood” first…before being made to grow up too soon!

Steve

P.S. You will not loose your Childs’ place at school. Your Childs’ place is there right up to the age of 5 years old. If you would like to know more on this issue, please pick up the phone now and call Michelle our Manager, who will be happy to answer all your concerns.

P.P.S. If you take your Child out of Nursery and they don’t settle in school it could be that they are not prepared as stated above. In this case you are more than welcome to bring them back to Nursery, where our RATIO is 1 to 8 (ie. 1 Staff member to 8 Children), which means your Child will receive much more attention when they need it the most. Call Michelle for an informal chat to clear any doubts you may have.

TEL: 01709 560303 8am-6pm Mon-Fri.

Hello

Hope you are all in good health, enjoying the thought that spring is just around the corner, and looking forward to that summer holiday vacation.

We were trying to give something more to you from our website and saw a new product on the market that we thought you’d like.

It’s our new HappiToyStore and you can get to it by clicking the GingerBread Man Link Button.

In there you will immediately see lots of different categories aimed mainly at children from toddler age to school age. It’s fairly easy to navigate and you can pick up some real bargains as the main listings are also on ebay, and we all know how everyone likes ebay for bargains and ease of shopping.

By visiting our HappiToyStore you have the convenience of finding lots of child related toys and games which are always changing as the listings are being constantly updated.

Why not browse the store and if you don’t find something specific you may be looking for, send me your suggestions and I’ll make sure we add it if it’s available.

In the Educational Toys section, there are toys similar to those we have in nursery if that’s what you want. Or the Pre School/Young Children category may be more to your liking.

Why not bookmark us and you’ll be able to find the HappiToyStore easily.
Don’t forget to let us know what you think.

Hope to see you in the Store soon.

Bye for now

Steve

Hello
I just read a very pleasing and confirming report from Jim Morris of something we thought for a long time…namely that video IS the BIG thing on the net.

Video the next big thing on the net by Jim Morris

Hello

I just read a very pleasing and confirming report from Jim Morris of something we thought for a long time…namely that video IS the BIG thing on the net.

Why, because as I said in reply to Jim’s post on his blog, that we “play learn through the Movies”. What I mean is that, because it is Visual and engulfing our senses, we can absorb and comprehend much more and with far greater ease.

Our Children learn through play, they use computers to interact on screen with learning programs, which are FUN to play with and therefore they learn much faster.

Interactive, visual learning…is what is making the difference in today’s classrooms and producing more knowledgeable kids. Communication in general is on a far greater scale today than it ever was, our learning experience is now Worldwide, not just localised.

Video learning is the way of the net now and will continue to grow as more people see it as the natural progression, as technology advances. Kids in remote areas can hook up to the Internet and learn far easier through video than text.

Video carries emotions, and tutors can really emphasis a point to drive it home.

We run a nursery for Children and would love to know what YOU would like to learn…through Video.

It can be on any topic you like! Just give it some thought and send me your comments.

Is the Internet easy, or difficult for you to grasp. Tell me what you want to know.

Remember…there is no such thing as a dumb question, if you thought it, how many other people do you think, thought about the same thing, but were afraid to ask.

Don’t be shy, ask your question and I’ll see if I can help you

Till next time
Regards
Steve Scully

Child Care - Online Safety For Your Kids

More people are joining the Internet daily…most of the quick learners to join are of course… Your Kids!

Let’s face a fact… the young mind is much quicker to learn and grasp new concepts…and the Internet although not new… changes constantly.

Though the Internet is a great place for learning new things, it can become a little daunting for the beginner…and for Kids…can be a dangerous place IF certain rules are not followed.

For Kids who use Chat Rooms and websites they are not familiar with…there follows a few important rules that you should agree to do:

I will not give out personal information such as my address, telephone number, parents’ work address/telephone number, or the name and location of my school without my parents’ permission.

I will never agree to get together with someone I “meet” online without first checking with my parents. If my parents agree to the meeting, I will be sure that it is in a public place and bring my mother or father along.

I will not respond to any messages that are mean or in any way make me feel uncomfortable. It is not my fault if I get a message like that. If I do I will tell my parents right away so that they can contact the service provider.

I will not give out my Internet password to anyone (even my best friends) other than my parents.

I will be a good online citizen and not do anything that hurts other people or is against the law.

I will tell my parents right away if I come across any information that makes me feel uncomfortable.

I will never send a person my picture or anything else without first checking with my parents.

I will talk with my parents so that we can set up rules for going online. We will decide upon the time of day that I can be online, the length of time I can be online and appropriate areas for me to visit. I will not access other areas or break these rules without their permission.

I will check with my parents before downloading or installing software or doing anything that could possibly hurt our computer or jeopardize my family’s privacy

I will help my parents understand how to have fun and learn things online and teach them things about the Internet, computers and other technology.

Rules one to six are adapted from the brochure Child Safety on the Information Highway by SafeKids.Com founder Larry Magid. (© 2004 National Center for Missing and Exploited Children). Rules 7 to 10 are copyrighted by Larry Magid (© 2005)

Please follow these rules as they are for you safety online.

While on the subject of Safety For Kids Online …you should check out our Safe Kids Chat Room Software by KidSafeLand.co.uk as it was made with You in mind!

The room you get is password protected

only YOU can allow others to chat in YOUR Room

no-one from ANYWHERE on the Internet with bad intentions will be able to talk to you

You get a totally free 3 seat room

You use a password to get into the room, that you make up yourself

you can invite your friends to join you in your room, or

you can tell your friends to get a chat room of their own

It is totally free…as long as you have an online connection already

you can chat as long as you are allowed

This Kids Chat Room is very secure….there is a slightly different version being used by Government Officials for…government business, so that tells you how secure it actually is.

So… if you would like to chat in safety online…
why not get your very own Kids Chat Room today

Keep Your Kids Safe Online…follow the above safe chat room rules.

UPDATE-KIDSAFELAND IS NO LONGER AVAIALBLE…sorry kids!
